Translator, prose writer B. Orozaliev was born on March 11, 1923, in the village of Zindan, Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region, in a family of a poor peasant. In 1938, he graduated from a seven-year school in his native village, in 1941— from the Tyup Agricultural Technical School, in 1958— from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, and in 1962— from the journalism department of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow.
Since 1941, he worked as a teacher at the incomplete secondary school at the Tyup Agricultural Technical School. In May 1942, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army. He was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. As part of the Don and Stalingrad fronts, he fought on the Oryol-Kursk bulge. From 1943 to 1945, he was a student at the Kharkov Aviation School, and in 1946, he was demobilized from the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
Since 1946, he worked as a teacher at the Kurmentin Secondary School in the Tyup district, as the first secretary of the Przhevalsky City Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan, from 1949— as head of the department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Leninchil zhash," from 1952— as the responsible secretary of the magazine "Zhash leninchi," from 1958— as a senior editor, chief editor of the republic's radio committee, head of the department, deputy head of the Publishing Department of the State Committee for Publishing of the Kyrgyz SSR.
B. Orozaliev entered literature in the 1950s. His first book was a collection of stories "Zholugushuu" ("Meeting"), published in 1956. The writer mainly engaged in artistic translation. He translated works of Soviet writers S. Antonov, Z. Voskresenskaya, S. Semenikhin, A. Adamov,
A. Keshokov, M. Kolesnikov, and others into Kyrgyz; among foreign works— the novel by Indian writer Krishan Chandra "Defeat," the novella by Polish writer A. Bagday "0:1 in the first half," the literary portrait of F. Engels by Bulgarian writer S. Prodev "Spring of Genius," and others.
A member of the Communist Party since 1943, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1971.
Awarded the Orders of the Red Banner, the Patriotic War II degree, medals "For the Defense of Stalingrad," "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR," "30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "40 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "Veteran of Labor," and certificates of honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
