
Poet U. Jumabaev was born on March 23, 1923—August 20, 1976, in the village of Kara-Dyube, Chui region of the Kyrgyz SSR, in a family of a poor peasant.
In 1941, he graduated from the Dzhanay-Alysh Secondary School, and from 1949 to 1951, he studied at the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, and in 1956, he graduated from the correspondence department of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow.
He began his labor biography in 1941 as an assistant accountant in his native collective farm. In 1942, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army.
In 1944, he graduated from artillery school and was sent to the front with the rank of junior lieutenant, commanding a platoon.
From 1946 to 1949, he worked as an instructor and head of the department of the Chui Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan. In 1951, he was elected secretary of the party organization of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.
From 1952, he worked in various responsible positions in party work in the republic, from 1962 he headed a department under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR, and from 1972 until the end of his life, he served as Deputy Minister of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR.
His creative biography began in 1939. His first poetry collection "Yrlars" ("Poems") was published in 1958.
He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1946 and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1973.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, medals "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin," "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "For the Liberation of Prague," "For Labor Distinction," and others, as well as Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He was elected a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan and a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR of the VII convocation.
