Poet, prose writer Sandzhi Eginaliyev


Poet and prose writer S. Eginaliyev was born on December 9, 1925, in the village of Shalta, now part of the Sokuluk district of the Kyrgyz SSR, in a peasant family.
In 1943, he graduated from 9th grade of secondary school, in 1949 he completed the Kyrgyz Secondary School No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze as an external student, and in 1953 he graduated from the philological faculty of KGU. In 1943, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army and participated in the Great Patriotic War.
In 1953, he was accepted as a junior research fellow at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1954, he worked as a literary employee at the editorial office of the newspaper "Leninchil zhash," and from 1955, he served as a literary employee and head of the literature and art department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Sovettik Kyrgyzstan," and from 1965, he was the chief editor of the magazine "Chalkan."
Since 1975, he has been the deputy chairman of the voluntary Society of Book Lovers of the republic, since 1979 he has been the head of the children's and youth literature editorial office of the "Mektep" publishing house, and since 1986 he has been the chief editor of this publishing house.
He has been publishing since 1953. His first poetry collection "Ak kayyts" ("White Birch") was published in 1963. He has translated works of Hafiz, M. Tursun-Zade, P. Brovka, M. Simonova, and others into Kyrgyz. The writer has a monograph dedicated to the works of R. Shukurbekov, which served as the basis for his candidate dissertation defended in 1973.
A member of the CPSU since 1959, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1984, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1955.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II class, medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin," "Veteran of Labor," and Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He is an excellent worker in the press of the USSR.
