Prose writer K. Dzhusupov was born on April 14, 1937, in the village of On-Arch, Tian-Shan district of Naryn region, in a peasant family.
In 1954, he graduated from Otkuk Secondary School, and in 1961, he graduated from the philological faculty of KSU.
He began his labor biography in 1957 as an accountant in his native collective farm, worked as a rural librarian, and as the secretary of the primary Komsomol organization.
Since 1961, he has been a literary employee at the editorial office of the newspaper "Tian-Shan Pravdasy", from 1964 — an employee of Glavlit under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR, from 1966 — an editor at the publishing house "Kyrgyzstan", and from 1968 — an editor in the script department of the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm". Later, from 1973, he became a literary employee at the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too", from 1978 — a literary consultant for the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan in Naryn region, and from 1984 — in the sector for the artistic publication of the epic "Manas". In 1986, he was elected secretary of the board of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan, and since 1987, he has also been the chief editor of the magazine "Ala-Too".
He has been publishing since 1958. His first book is "Zhasoo kumary" ("Thirst for Life"). The writer's works have been published in Russian and Ukrainian, and some of them have been published in Arabic (Lebanon). In collaboration with A. Dzhakypbekov, the writer is working on a literary prose adaptation of the epic "Manas".
For the book "Yry sabyndagy emur" ("Life in Verses"), he was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the republic in 1975.
A member of the CPSU since 1964, a member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1966.
He has been awarded the medal "For Labor Valor" and a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
