Prose writer, playwright, screenwriter M. Gaparov was born on March 22, 1936, in the village of Noigut, Nookat District, Osh Region, in a peasant family.
In 1953, he graduated from Nookat Secondary School named after Fedorov, and in 1962, he graduated from the philological faculty of KGU.
From 1965 to 1967, he was a student at the Higher Scriptwriting Courses in Moscow. He began his labor biography as a collective farmer and then worked as a laborer in a geological exploration team until 1957.
In 1962, he was sent as a teacher to the Murghab District of the Tajik SSR.
From 1963, he worked as an editor at the State Committee of Television and Radio of the Kyrgyz SSR, from 1967, and then from 1980, he was an editor at the "Kyrgyzfilm" film studio, from 1968 he was an editor at "Kyrgyztelefilm," and from 1970, he was a consultant to the Republic's Screenwriters' Union.
Since 1974, he has been the head of the literary department of the Kyrgyz Drama Theater in the city of Osh, from 1984, he was a consultant to the Screenwriters' Union of Kyrgyzstan for the Issyk-Kul region, and from 1987, he was a member of the script workshop at "Kyrgyzfilm."
He began publishing in the mid-1950s. In 1963, the novella "Meiman" ("Guest") was published as a separate edition. He is the author of several collections of short stories and novellas, plays "The Night of Predestination" (1975), "The Noise of the River" (1979), "Karlson of Our House" (1983), and others, which were staged in theaters of Kyrgyzstan and brother republics; screenplays for feature films "Sunny Island," "It's Not a Problem!" co-authored with R. Ibragimbekov, "Street," and a dozen chronicle-documentary films.
Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1986).
Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1974, member of the Screenwriters' Union of the USSR since 1971.
Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
