Abdyldaev Bekesh


Film director. Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979). Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1974. Born on January 1, 1933, in the village of Tegermet in the Kemin district to a peasant family. After completing a seven-year rural school, he continued his education at boarding school No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze. In 1953, he entered the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute named after A. I. Ostrovsky in the acting faculty and graduated in 1957.

B. Abdyldaev began his creative career as an actor in the Przhevalsk Regional Drama Theater. He joined the film studio in 1959 as an assistant director for feature films. From 1962 to 1968, as a director, he dubbed 31 films into Kyrgyz ("The Fate of a Man," "The Wind," "A Simple Story," "Baltic Sky," etc.). He worked as a second director on the films "Street of Cosmonauts" (1963, directed by M. Roshal) and "The Sky of Our Childhood" (1966, directed by T. Okeev). He served as a co-director (together with L. Gurevich) for the film "The Most Obedient" (1965).

B. Abdyldaev found his true calling in documentary cinema. His essays "Garden" (1967), "Naryn Stars" (1968), lyrical and filled with sincere authorial excitement, admiration for people devoted to their work, became a significant phenomenon in the history of Kyrgyz cinema journalism. At the VII and VIII reviews-competitions of filmmakers from the Central Asian republics and Kazakhstan, they were awarded diplomas "For Best Directorial Work." In 1972, the film "Post" by B. Abdyldaev received the second prize "Silver Dove" at the XV International Film Festival in Leipzig (GDR), and in 1973, he was awarded the first prize for Best Short Film and the Union of Journalists of the USSR Prize at the VI All-Union Film Festival in Almaty.

B. Abdyldaev is also the creator of documentary films "Reflection" (1967), "Prospect" (1968), "Words" (1969), "Improviser" (1970), "Composition," "Gift" (both in 1974), "Hope" (1977), "Explorers of Underground Rivers," "Ulna," "Spring of Living Silver," "Family" (all in 1978), "Night Shift," "Calling" (both in 1979), review films "From Congress to Congress" (1976, "Kyrgyztelefilm"), "Forum of Communists," "Kyrgyz on the XXV Congress," "...Plus Electrification" (all in 1976, "Kyrgyzfilm"), "Equal Among Equals," "Arrival of the President" (both in 1977, the second being a special issue of the magazine "Soviet Kyrgyzstan"), popular science essays "Commonwealth of Energy Workers" (1969), "At-Bashinsky Hydroelectric Power Station" (1971), "Kyrgyzstan-71" (1971), "Kyrgyzstan Through the Eyes of Artists" (1973), "Monuments of Ancient Creativity" (1973).

One of B. Abdyldaev's successes is the film "Daughter of the Earth" (1974) — about the renowned sugar beet grower, twice Hero of Socialist Labor, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Zuurakan Kainazarova.

Awards—Certificate of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1969). Badge "Excellence in Soviet Cinematography" (1970).

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR since 1964.
