Borbieva Nurtai
Cinematographer. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kirghiz SSR (1979). Born on January 15, 1937, in the village of Kyzyl-Asker, Kyzyl-Asker District, Frunze Region of the Kirghiz SSR.
In 1956, after graduating from secondary school No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze, he enrolled in the Pishpek Accounting Technical School. In 1958-1959, he worked as an accountant in the Kyzyl-Asker collective farm. His passion for cinematography led Borbieva N. to a studio, where he began working as an assistant cameraman. Since 1962, he has been shooting independently as a cinematographer. N. Borbieva has gone through all stages of a documentary filmmaker: from shooting stories for the releases of the newsreel "Soviet Kyrgyzstan" to creating authorial essays. As a cameraman, he achieved high professionalism in films such as "In the Snows of Alai" (1964), "Manaschi" (1965, together with A. Petrov), "Cape of the Gnedoy Horse" (1966), "Garden" (1967).
The poetic and picturesque nature of the visual solution is noted in the feature film "Muras" (1969, awarded for Best Cinematography at the II All-Union Film Festival in Minsk in 1970). The desire for a deep exploration of life phenomena is manifested in his authorial works "Aydyn," "Evening School," "Anxiety" (all in 1975), "What If It Happens" (1977).

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR since 1968.
