Jusupov Kazbek
Film artist. Born on September 12, 1938, in the village of Oktyabrskoye, Moscow District, Kyrgyz SSR, in a peasant family. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Frunze Art College from 1955 to 1961. Then, after a brief period working as a methodologist in fine arts at the Republican House of Folk Art, he went back to study in 1961 at VGIK in the art department. In 1966, he returned to Frunze and in 1967 joined the team of the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio as a production designer for feature films.
Kazbek Jusupov's talent was evident from his first film "Mother's Field" (1967) by G. Bazarov. In the subsequent full-length documentaries "Heritage" (1968) by T. Okeeva and "Singing Bowl" (1969) by U. Ibragimov, his ability to achieve authenticity and expressiveness in the pictorial composition of each frame through precise and concise details was confirmed. This quality also distinguishes his work in full-length feature television films such as "When Shadows Retreat" (1970) by U. Tokombaev, "By the Old Mill" (1972) by U. Ibragimov, and the films "Bow to the Fire" (1972) by T. Okeeva and "Waterfall" (1973) by Yu. Boretzky. Kazbek Jusupov also successfully designed the essay "You Are Responsible" (1972) and the television film "Kyrgyz Ballet" (1974).
Awards — Honorary Certificate of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan (1965). Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and the Ministry of Education of the USSR (1968).
Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1973.
