Ishenov Sagynbek


Film artist. People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic. People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic. Laureate of the Alykul Osmonov Prize. Born on April 5, 1934, in the village of Chon Aryk, Chui region.

In 1961, he graduated from the art faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).

Since 1966, he has been a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR, and since 1967, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

The nature of Ishenov's work as an artist is largely defined by his love for Kyrgyz nature, his sense of its epic scale, and its connection to the spiritual formation of the Kyrgyz people. In the late 1970s, Ishenov worked on creating animated films. He directed the first Kyrgyz cartoons: "The Numbers Argue," "Olokon." Subsequently, he created animated films: "Old Man Meke and the Black Giant," "Two Bunnies," "Portrait," "Tolubai - Expert on Horses," "Akyn."

As a documentary filmmaker, Ishenov directed films: "Berkutchi," "Falconer," "Nasiyat," "Sculptor Alybek Mukhtidinov."

Participant in republican, nationwide, and international exhibitions. The best works of Ishenov are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev and in the State Tretyakov Gallery.
