Torobekov Sapar Torobekovich


Painter, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician of the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor at the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture. Born on October 20, 1942, in the village of Birikken, Chui region.

In 1964, he graduated from the Frunze Art School, and in 1969 - from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.

From 1969 to 2001, he was a teacher at the Kyrgyz State Art School named after S. Chuykov. Since 2001, he has been teaching at the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture, and at the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic in specialized disciplines.

Since 1972, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

He mainly works on genre paintings on themes of rural life. He has created lyrical images of remote corners of Kyrgyz land. Each landscape is an instant response to what he has seen, a consolidation in the harmony of colors of his impressions and emotional states.

Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. Awarded a Diploma from the Academy of Arts of the USSR, a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR, and Silver and Bronze Medals from the Academy of Arts of the USSR.

The artist's works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Museum of the Peoples of the East (Moscow), and in private collections abroad.
