Artykbaev Karabek
Painter. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on February 15, 1948, in the village of Kener-Aryk, Moscow District, Kyrgyz SSR. In 1968, he graduated from the Frunze Art College and in 1974 from the Moscow State Institute named after V.I. Surikov, under the workshop of A.M. Gritsai.
Since 1975, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
K. Artykbaev is characterized by a clear realistic vision of the world and an interest in the best traditions of Kyrgyz painting. He chooses subjects that allow for a broad depiction of the folk way of life, where new social relations combine with the customs of the past that have not yet disappeared, and he also works in the historical-revolutionary theme. He has participated in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and the Academy of Arts of Russia. He has been awarded a Diploma from the Academy of Arts of the USSR, an Honorary Diploma from VDNH of the USSR, and a Certificate from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
