Dzhumabajev Dzhambul
Painter. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on December 25, 1945, in the village of Myrza-Aryk, Uzgen District, Osh Region.
From 1960 to 1965, he studied at the art school of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, and from 1965, at the Frunze Art College.
He worked in painting, easel and book graphics, and cinema. He most vividly expressed himself in genre painting and portraiture.
The themes of most of the artist's paintings are inspired by the places familiar to him in Southern Kyrgyzstan and impressions from his childhood and youth. They are built on the blending of tender, close colors, filled with the breath of nature and the lyrical feelings of the artist.
As a production designer, D. Dzhumabajev participated in the creation of television films "Soldatenok" based on the story of the same name by Ch. Aitmatov ("Kyrgyztelefilm", 1972), "Bulat Minzhilkiyev Sings" ("Kyrgyztelefilm", 1973), and the feature film "Red Apple" based on the story of the same name by Ch. Aitmatov ("Kyrgyzfilm", 1974).
Since 1972, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Participant in republican, all-union, and international exhibitions. His works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in the State Museum of the Peoples of the East (Moscow), in museums, and private collections in both near and far abroad.
