Mukhanbetov Mukhtar
(1937-1996)Painter. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born on May 10, 1937, in the village of Tyup, Tyup District, Issyk-Kul Region. In 1960, he graduated from the Frunze Art College, and in 1968 — from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin. Since 1968, he taught at the Kyrgyz State Art College named after A.S. Chuykov. He was an associate professor at the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport, and Architecture.
An artist with broad creative interests and multifaceted talent. His work encompassed various aspects of the reality surrounding him. He worked in the genre of narrative-themed painting, in portraiture, and developed historical and rural themes. He paid much attention to the problem of the unity of content and form, the connection between the idea and its plastic expression.
Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His works are held in the Kyrgyz State Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, in the exhibition and panorama directorate, Moscow; in private collections abroad.
Since 1974 - a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
