Insect species listed in the 2004 IUCN RLTS, not included in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan
1. Chichyrkanak kuluk kaldyrkany - Hyles hippophaes (Esper, 1789) - Seathorn Hawk-moth (Lepidoptera order, Sphingidae family)
According to the assessment conducted in 1996, it is included in the IUCN RLTS with the DD category [76]. The species is widely distributed, and its range is expanding [42, 50]. In Kyrgyzstan, it is represented by two subspecies, H. h. bienerti Staudinger, 1874 and H. h. shugnana Scheljuzhko, 1933 [12, 42], whose numbers and range are stable [41]. It is not included in the Red Book of neighboring Uzbekistan for similar reasons [23].

Eu. asiatica is rarely encountered, but currently, there is no alarming data in Kyrgyzstan [40].

This species has only been found once in the Republic [41], and despite the need for verification, it does not require protection, as all species of the Maculinea genus have stable ranges and populations in Kyrgyzstan [40].

The record of its occurrence in Kyrgyzstan [17] refers to the Central Asian subspecies M. a. cyanecula (Eversmann, 1848), which is currently considered a separate species [50], meaning that the M. arion species has been excluded from the fauna checklist of the Republic [12]. Furthermore, populations and ranges of all Maculinea species in Kyrgyzstan are stable [40].
