Kasymbekov Turgunbek
Painter. Born on May 13, 1946, in the village of Chon-Zhar, Sokuluk District, Chui Region. In 1966, he graduated from the Frunze Art School, then studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute from 1966 to 1968. From 1968 to 1970, he worked as an artist at the Committee for Radio Broadcasting and Television. Since 1972, he worked in the Art Fund of the Kyrgyz SSR as a designer.
T. Kasymbekov began his career by illustrating and designing children's and artistic literature, including books by Kyrgyz classics. For many years, he collaborated with the magazines "Zhas Leninchi" and "Chalkan." A significant part of the artist's creative work was dedicated to creating large-format portraits. At the request of his fellow villagers, he made and installed a bust of Sh. Termechikov.
Since 1999, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. An active participant in national and international exhibitions. He has held solo exhibitions. Awarded the medal "For Valorous Labor" from the Government of the USSR. He has received Honorary Certificates and diplomas, including diplomas from the "Art of the Book of Central Asia and Kazakhstan" competition. The artist's works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in private collections in the country and abroad.
