Mambetova Nazira Ismailovna
Film actress. Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979). Born on December 2, 1948, in the village of Tamga, Jety-Oguz District, in a peasant family. After graduating from high school, from 1967 to 1972, she studied at the acting faculty of GITIS in Moscow. Together with a group of young graduates, she was sent to the Osh Kyrgyz Drama Theater. From 1972 to 1980, she played dozens of roles on stage. She gained wide recognition for her intelligent and brave Zhaidara in the play "Communist Tanabay Bakasov" based on Ch. Aitmatov's story "Farewell, Gulsary!", the predatory petty bourgeois Vasilisa in Gorky's play "At the Bottom," the self-sacrificing Karachach from "The Night of Predeterminations" by M. Gaparov, the cheerful and funny Maisalbubu in "Narrow Gorge" by T. Abdumunov, and the thoughtful Akin in "People of Our Days" by T. Sydykbekov.
In cinema, N. Mambetova made a successful debut in the film "I am Tian-Shan" (1972, directed by I. Poplavskaya, "Mosfilm"), creating a memorable image of Kadichi. The actress convincingly and vividly played small roles as the shaman Goshara in the film "The Land of Sannikov" (1973, directed by A. Mkrtchyan and A. Popov) and in an episode of the film "The Field of Aysulu" (1976) by U. Ibragimov.
Critics noted the actress's work in the film "The White Steamboat" (1975) by B. Shamshiev, where she deeply penetrated the inner world of a beaten, humiliated woman oppressed by her despotic husband, portraying the tragic fate of Bekey.

Republican Committee of the Culture Workers' Trade Union (1974). Medal "For Labor Valor" (1976).
Member of the USSR Union of Cinematographers since 1978.
