Akmataliyev Kiridin Sartbaevich

Film director. Born on April 18, 1947, in the village of Temirovka, Issyk-Kul region, in a peasant family. After graduating from high school, from 1965 to 1967, he worked as an electric locomotive driver and later as a tunneler in the Uch-Koshkon search and exploration party (Jeti-Oguz district, Kyrgyz SSR). After serving in the Soviet Army, he worked from December 1969 to April 1970 as a driver in the Northern Production Auto Trust.

In May 1970, K. Akmataliyev became an assistant director at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio. From 1971 to 1976, he studied at the directing faculty of VGIK. Since July 1975, he has been a director at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio.

K. Akmataliyev began his independent creative work while still a student intern. In 1974, he successfully took on the significant role of Akjoltoi in the feature film "Smile on the Stone" (dir. U. Ibragimov). At the same time, he directed documentary films "Our General" and "The Hut at Ooru-Sai." In 1975, another directorial work appeared — the essay "Our Fifth," which tells the story of the famous Kyrgyz school No. 5 in the city of Frunze and the contribution of its students to the culture of Kyrgyzstan.

K. Akmataliyev also dedicated his diploma film, "I Need to Consult" (1976), to the issues of educating modern schoolchildren. The five-part artistic television film "Sunny Island" (1976) demonstrates the young director's deep interest in the spiritual world of youth. His constant creative growth is evident in his work with actors, in his attempts to analyze the everyday life of his contemporaries, and to make certain artistic generalizations. In this sense, significant interest is represented by K. Akmataliyev's first feature film "Three Days in July" (1977). The modest plot of the film contains serious reflections by the author on the danger of the impoverishment of the human soul, and on the irreversible spiritual losses that await those who betray the high goals and ideals of youth.

Member of the USSR Union of Cinematographers since 1977.
