Moldakhmatov Asanbek
(1923-1993)Theater artist. Painter. Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR. Born in 1923. In 1953, he graduated from the faculty of theatrical and decorative painting of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I.E. Repin.
Since 1953, he worked as a production designer at the Kyrgyz State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Since 1956, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
The main repertoire of Moldakhmatov included performances dedicated to the history and contemporary life of Kyrgyzstan. He also turned to staging performances based on folklore themes. An important place in the artist's work was the staging of musical works of Russian and foreign classics. Here he worked within the framework of already established traditions. In easel painting, he created landscapes and portraits, striving for an accurate representation of nature.
The works of A. Moldakhmatov are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev.
He was awarded the Order of the "Badge of Honor" and a Certificate of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
