Belyevich Iosif Antonovich
Theater artist Graphic artist Born on August 1, 1916, in the Ural region in the city of Zlatoust. In 1935, he graduated from the pedagogical department of the Leningrad State Art and Industry College. From 1939 to 1940, he worked as a set designer for the Young Spectator Theater in Frunze, and from 1942 to 1944, he was the chief artist of the Kyrgyz State Order of Lenin Opera and Ballet Theater. From 1947 to 1952, he served as the chief artist of the Kyrgyz State Drama Theater. More than 50 performances were staged on the republic's theater stages with Belyevich's decorations.
Since 1949, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In graphics, he primarily worked on thematic series, in which he presented a detailed, sequentially developing chain of events.
A significant part of Belyevich's work is dedicated to portraits and landscapes.
He was awarded the Order of the "Badge of Honor," medals for "Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," three Certificates of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, and a Letter of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His works are kept in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev and in museums of the CIS.
