Critic, Philosopher, Psychologist Aziz Saliev

Critic, philosopher, psychologist A. Saliev was born on November 10, 1925, in the village of Kün-Chygysh (now the village of Bokonbaev) in the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region, in a teacher's family.
In 1940, after finishing a seven-year school in his native village, he studied at the preparatory department of the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute, and in 1941 he was admitted to the Faculty of Literature of this university. After graduating in 1948, he continued his education in graduate school at the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
In 1951, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences.
Since 1954, he has been a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR.
In 1942, as one of the volunteer students, he joined the ranks of the Soviet Army.
After graduating from military school in 1943, he served on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and was seriously wounded.
From 1951, he worked as a senior lecturer and head of the philosophy department at the Republican Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan; from 1953, he was the chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan, and from 1959, he worked as head of the sector, director, and head of the department at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR.
A. Saliev is the author of ten monographic studies and more than two hundred articles on aesthetics, gnoseology, and psychology, which gained wide recognition not only in Kyrgyzstan but also on the all-Union stage and abroad. He translated into Kyrgyz the work of F. Engels "Ludwig Feuerbach and the End of Classical German Philosophy" and the work of V. I. Lenin (co-authored) "Materialism and Empirio-Criticism." A. Saliev is a co-author, compiler, and editor of six collective collections on philosophy and art.
Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz SSR (1985).
Member of the CPSU since 1948, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1953.
Awarded the Order of the Patriotic War I degree, two Orders of the Badge of Honor, medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of V. I. Lenin's Birth," "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR," "30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," "Veteran of Labor," and others, as well as Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR of the IV convocation, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan at the VII-IX congresses, and deputy of the Frunze City Council of People's Deputies (1970, 1976).
