Critic, literary scholar Georgy Khlypenko

Critic, literary scholar G. Khlypenko was born in the village of Sadovoye in the Moscow district of the Kyrgyz SSR in a family of civil servants. In 1955, he graduated from high school in his native village, in 1960—he graduated from the philological faculty of KGU, and in 1966—he completed postgraduate studies at KGU. He earned a Candidate of Philological Sciences degree (1969).

From 1960 to 1968, he worked as a senior editor and head of the editorial and publishing department at the Institute of New Technologies and Innovations of the State Committee for the Coordination of Scientific Research. Since 1966, he has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical work: starting in 1966, he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Theory and History of Russian Literature at KGU, from 1969—he served as a senior lecturer and head of the Department of Russian Literature at the Przhevalsky Pedagogical Institute, from 1971—he was a senior lecturer, associate professor, and acting head of the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature at the V. V. Mayakovsky KZPI, and from 1979—he was the head of the Department of Russian Literature at the Frunze Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages.

He has been engaged in literary creativity since 1964. His first work as a literary scholar, published as a separate edition in 1974, was the "Dictionary-Minimum of Literary Terms." The writer studies Kyrgyz literature and investigates Kyrgyz-Ukrainian literary connections. He is the author of the books "Search—Mastery—Search" (1976), "The Feeling of a Unified Family" (1980), and a number of literary-critical articles, reviews, and critiques.

He is an honored worker of public education of the Kyrgyz SSR.

A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1968, and a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1985.

He was awarded the badge "For Excellent Achievements in Work" by the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR.
