Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kashka-Suu, Jangi-Jol District, Jalal-Abad Region. Graduated from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute (1951), postgraduate studies at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (1965). Worked as a teacher, dean of the Przhevalsky Pedagogical Institute, editor of fiction.
Kyrgyz Publishing House, senior inspector of the Committee of Higher Education of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR, associate professor, professor, and since 1965 - head of the department at KSU. Specialist in the history of Kyrgyz literature and art.
Awarded medals of the USSR. Honored Worker of Public Education of the Kyrgyz Republic (1994). Published more than 100 scientific works, including 2 monographs. Under his supervision, 2 candidate dissertations were defended.
