Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Korumdu, Issyk-Kul District, Issyk-Kul Region.
Graduated from KGPU (1950), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Moscow, 1956).
Worked as a teacher at the Pedagogical College in Jalal-Abad, junior researcher, senior researcher at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Kyrgyz SSR Academy of Sciences, associate professor at KJPI, and from 1992 - professor at KGPU named after I. Arabayev.
Specialist in Kyrgyz literature.
Published over 100 scientific works, including 10 monographs, 6 textbooks, and educational aids.
