Doctor of Philological Sciences (1991), Professor (1988), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993)
Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kazarman, Naryn region.
Graduated from KGU (1967), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1972).
Worked as a junior researcher, senior researcher, head of the department, deputy director, and director of the Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic; since 1998 - head of the foreign languages department at the Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in experimental phonetics, comparative typology, sociolinguistics, dialectology, and translation theory.
Published over 100 scientific works, including 10 monographs.
Under his supervision, 10 candidate dissertations have been defended.
