The King of Ghana was fed with Kyrgyz boorsoks in the USA

The King of Ghana, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was fed with Kyrgyz boorsoks in the USA. The crowned figure, along with his entourage, visited the Kyrgyzstan booth at the International Day festival, which took place in Newark last Saturday, November 22. This was reported today, November 24, by the head of the Kyrgyz Club, a public organization of Kyrgyz citizens abroad, Aibek Hakimov.

“It was a big surprise for everyone that the King of Ghana, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, attended the festival to promote his country. He visited the Kyrgyzstan booth and happily took photos with the activists of the Kyrgyz Club. The booth featured information about the country, displayed felt products, and a video about Kyrgyzstan was shown. Girls in traditional costumes treated festival guests with boorsoks and gave them calendars featuring nature views. Our country’s booth was the most popular, and almost all festival visitors took photos with our girls,” noted Hakimov.

Among others, Congressman Donald Payne from New Jersey visited the section of the exhibition related to the Kyrgyz Republic, under whose patronage the international festival was held, aimed at introducing Americans to the cultural heritage of various countries. The congressman did not leave empty-handed - he was presented with a national kalpak, which he immediately posed for a photo in.
