Kyrgyzstan has become the undisputed leader of the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2014 in the "Wellness Tourism" category. Online voting is being conducted on the website of National Geographic Russia.
Having received 82.01% of the votes (as of October 31), the republic took first place. Competing for victory in this category were also Israel (8.51% of the votes), Iceland (3.24%), Hungary (2.75%), Slovenia (1.53%), French Polynesia (0.86%), South Korea (0.8%), Italy (0.18%), Indonesia (0.12%), and Vietnam, which received no votes.
Voting has been ongoing on the magazine's website since June 25. Until November 10, the online publication provides users with the opportunity to determine the winning country in 18 different categories, including: beach, winter, sightseeing vacations, discovery of the year, best shopping city, best airport in the world, and others.
