Yanushevich Alexander Ivanovich (1903-1979),
Doctor of Biological Sciences (1951), Professor (1954), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1960)
Born in Harbin, China.
Graduated from Tomsk University (1930).
Worked as an assistant at Tomsk University, scientific secretary of the Medical-Biological Institute of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, head of the laboratory at the Kirghiz Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR, director of the Center for Biology, head of the laboratory of vertebrate zoology.
Specialist in the field of ornithology and mammalogy, nature conservation.
Honored Scientist of the Kirghiz SSR (1974).
Published over 100 scientific works, including 4 monographs.
Under his supervision, 17 candidate dissertations were defended.
