Aymukhamedova Gulsym (Maria Buranovna) (1919), Doctor of Technical Sciences (1965), Professor (1967)

Kazakh. Born in the city of Troitsk, Chelyabinsk region. Graduated from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute (1945), postgraduate studies at the Kyrgyz Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1949).

Worked as a laboratory assistant at the Committee of Sciences of the Council of People's Commissars, junior researcher, teaching secretary, senior researcher, head of the group at the chemical institute of the Kyrgyz Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, head of the laboratory, deputy director, head of the department, consultant, and since 1991 — chief researcher at the Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Natural and Bioactive Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Specialist in the field of chemistry and technology of natural, biologically active compounds.

Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, medals of the USSR, and Honorary Certificates of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (5).

Honored Inventor of the Kyrgyz SSR (1975). Honored Figure of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1985). Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1995). Published more than 300 scientific works, including 11 monographs and over 56 author certificates.

Under her supervision, 3 doctoral and 16 candidate dissertations have been defended.
