Chalov Pavel Ivanovich (1923),

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1970), Professor (1972), Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1983), Laureate of the State Prize of the Kirghiz SSR in the field of Science and Technology.

Ukrainian. Born in the village of Chernigovka, Zharminsky District, Semipalatinsk Region, Kazakhstan.

Graduated from KazGU (1951), postgraduate studies (1954).

Worked as head of the laboratory and department, academician-secretary of the division, member and chief scientific secretary of the Presidium, head of the laboratory at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, since 1994 - advisor to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Specialist in the field of geophysics and geochemistry.

Awarded the Orders of the Red Star, the Great Patriotic War, the Badge of Honor, Manas III degree of the Kyrgyz Republic (1997), medals of the USSR, and the Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Council of the Kirghiz SSR.

Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic. Published over 200 scientific works, including 6 monographs and 5 inventions.

Under his supervision, 12 candidate dissertations have been defended.
