Ukrainian. Born in the settlement of Novaya Tikhonovka, Karaganda Region, Kazakh SSR.
Graduated from Leningrad State University (Leningrad, 1957).
Worked as a laboratory assistant, junior and senior research fellow at the Institute of Geophysics of the Kyrgyz SSR, leading researcher, head of the laboratory, and since 1997 - head of the laboratory at the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of seismology (deep structure of the Earth's crust, geodynamics, seismic hazard).
Awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979), medal of the USSR (1984).
Published over 80 scientific works, including 9 monographs.
