In the last two weeks, events have occurred in the country that have disrupted the usual order and stability, despite my hopes for peaceful development.According to him, the basis for the current disputes has been discussions regarding the term of office of the president and the possibility of holding early elections. This has led to events such as the appeal of 75 activists, their interrogations, the detention of some of them, the dismissal of Kamchybek Tashiev and his deputies from the GKNB, as well as the resignation of the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.
Erkebayev emphasized: "As a responsible citizen of the country, I am sincerely concerned about the political situation and support the president's appeal to the Constitutional Court. I expect that the court will make a fair and legally justified decision regarding this issue, as well as concerning the return of the death penalty. All disputes should subside, and the country should peacefully move towards the presidential elections, which will be determined by the decision of the Constitutional Court. Every citizen should have the opportunity to participate in elections in accordance with their rights and desires."
He also noted that adherence to the Constitution and laws is the duty of every citizen of Kyrgyzstan, which should contribute to the unity of the nation and the development of the country, rather than incite conflicts.
“This is especially relevant in a year when Kyrgyzstan is hosting important international events, such as the SCO summit, the World Nomad Games, and the 'Issyk-Kul' forum, which attract the attention of the global community,” Erkebayev added.
