Eldar Sulaymanov, representing the "Ata-Jurt Kyrgyzstan" faction in the Jogorku Kenesh, has initiated the process of voluntarily resigning his powers. The Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to discuss his statement at today's meeting.
Although the official reasons for his resignation have not yet been disclosed, it is worth noting that this occurs against the backdrop of high-profile scandals involving the deputy. His ex-wife has made serious allegations against Sulaymanov, claiming that he committed acts of domestic violence. The deputy himself has firmly denied these accusations.
According to journalist Bolot Temirov, a network of fake accounts was operating on social media, discrediting Sulaymanov's ex-wife. These same accounts had previously been noted for similar actions against Shairbek and Tai-Muras Tashiev. However, after a warning from Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the president's press service, regarding potential criminal liability, all provocative materials concerning the Tashiev family were deleted, and the accounts themselves disappeared.
Eldar Sulaymanov began his parliamentary activity in 2021. It is expected that after the decision of the Central Election Commission, his seat will be taken by the next candidate from the party list.
