“I agreed without hesitation, as Osh is my hometown, where I spent my student years. I understand that this is a serious responsibility, and I am ready to work for the benefit of the city. Jenishbek Toktorbaev, my predecessor, worked hard, and I intend to continue his initiatives as much as possible. I will never say anything negative about the previous mayor. During the meeting with the president, we discussed many issues related to Osh and its future. He emphasized the importance of changing the attitude towards entrepreneurs and the need for honest work. This was the task he set before me. We will strive to justify the trust placed in us and create comfortable conditions for the residents,” Akayev said.
In addition, he added that new initiatives and a general development plan for the city will be developed jointly with the city council.
“Our office will be open to everyone: citizens, bloggers, and journalists. We strive for publicity and transparency in our work,” the mayor assured.
