In an interview with VB.KG, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, shared his thoughts on the blocking of TikTok and monitoring the internet space. He noted that no digital platform can surpass the importance of the mental and moral health of young people.
Shabdanbekov emphasized that monitoring social networks is conducted to identify the promotion of drugs, violence, and extremism. Regarding TikTok, he stated that the decision to block it was made due to content that "does not align with Kyrgyz mentality" and may negatively affect the development of children. The GKNB will continue its work to counter the spread of destructive information online.
