Recent rumors on social media and messaging apps about the possible return of Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region, to its former name have been denied. The press secretary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askhat Alagozov, officially commented on this matter on his social media page.
He emphasized that such reports are unfounded. The issue of renaming the city of Manas is not on the agenda.
“The information circulating on social media that the city of Manas is allegedly going to receive its former name is not true. This issue has not been discussed and will not be discussed. Manas will remain with its current name,” noted Askhat Alagozov.
