At the Livestock Market in Tokmok, Weapons Were Traded. Suspects Detained

According to the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui Region, on February 24, individuals suspected of selling weapons without a permit were detained.

Information about the illegal arms trade at the livestock market in the city of Tokmok was received by the police on January 19.

This incident has been registered in accordance with Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition.

During the investigation, police officers conducted a controlled purchase, which led to the detention of two suspects: S.Z., born in 1982, and T.K., born in 1994.

During a search, the following items were found with S.Z.:

- a rifled weapon of caliber 5.6 mm;

- an IZH-17 shotgun of caliber 12;

- a barrel of caliber 16;

- over 30 cartridges and shells of various calibers;

- components for reloading cartridges;

- 29 homemade knives;

- books with religious content;

- two state registration license plates;

- dried plant material (identification is ongoing).

Both detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility. Further investigation is currently underway.
