During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Burul Amanova raised the issue of the growing number of criminal cases against young Kyrgyz citizens in Russia related to drugs.
She noted that many of these young people are misled and sometimes do not even realize that they are transporting prohibited substances.
Amanova expressed serious concern about this situation, emphasizing that citizens are becoming defendants in serious crimes out of ignorance. As an illustration, she cited the case of a girl born in 2001 from the Kadamjai district, who is currently serving a sentence in a Russian prison for drug trafficking. The deputy appealed to government agencies to consider the possibility of transferring her to serve her sentence in Kyrgyzstan.
It is worth noting that the deputy draws her conclusions about the increase in such cases based solely on one example, while not providing any official data on the number of convicted Kyrgyz citizens in Russia.
