In an interview with the British publication Daily Mail on March 2, 2026, President Donald Trump noted that the military campaign against Iran is initially planned to last about a month. He specified that this is a "four-week process" that may conclude earlier than scheduled.
Trump also emphasized that the development of the situation aligns with Washington's forecasts and was not a surprise to him. The military operation, dubbed "Epic Fury," began on February 28 and is being conducted in cooperation with Israel. The strikes are aimed at command facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, airfields, drone positions, and air defense systems.
The Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (CENTCOM) reported the use of "special capabilities" during the operation, but details are not disclosed. As a result of the operation's actions, casualties have already been recorded: three American servicemen have died — these are the first casualties in the current campaign.
In a conversation with Fox News, Trump mentioned previous U.S. operations in Venezuela and attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities using B-2 strategic bombers, highlighting their high effectiveness.
