The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey held talks in Istanbul


A meeting took place in Istanbul between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. This meeting was held as part of an informal session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States.

According to information from the ministry, the talks covered important aspects of bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation and discussed interaction in international and regional organizations. The participants emphasized the need for mutual support in multilateral diplomatic platforms and the strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries.

In discussing security issues, the ministers exchanged views on the situation in the region, including events in the Middle East. The Kyrgyz side informed about the progress in the evacuation of Kyrgyz citizens from conflict zones and measures for their safety.

Additionally, Kulubaev shared plans for significant international events to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, including the celebration of the 35th anniversary of independence, the SCO summit, and the Sixth World Nomad Games.

Hakan Fidan, in turn, spoke about the upcoming Antalya Diplomatic Forum and invited his Kyrgyz colleague to participate in this event, including the possibility of speaking at one of the thematic panels.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further developing Kyrgyz-Turkish relations and activating political dialogue at all levels.
