Discussion on the state of Kyrgyz-Chinese interaction
Marlen Mamataliyev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, met with Liu Jiangping, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation and discussed the possibility of activating inter-parliamentary interaction.
The Speaker emphasized that in recent years, relations between Kyrgyzstan and China have been actively developing, as evidenced by regular high-level visits. He mentioned three meetings between the heads of the two states that took place last year.
“We are seeing progress, for example, in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the implementation of which had been frozen for a long time. Agreements have also been reached on several joint investment projects,” he noted.
Mamataliyev added that one of the key tasks for Kyrgyzstan is the development of economic and cultural ties.
Ambassador Liu Jiangping, in turn, emphasized the importance of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan for China and noted that, having extensive experience working in the country, she intends to continue strengthening friendly relations and interacting with the Jogorku Kenesh.
