Sadyr Japarov met with Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Ablakwa

During this meeting, reported by the president's press service, issues concerning the strengthening of cooperation between the two states were discussed, as well as the possibilities for developing joint projects in areas of mutual interest.

President Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Ghana, emphasizing that despite the significant geographical distance, this interaction represents an important priority.

Additionally, he noted the active steps taken to strengthen ties with African states, pointing out the opening of the Kyrgyz embassy in Ethiopia last year and upcoming plans to open a diplomatic mission in Egypt.

The president also mentioned that in February of this year, Kyrgyzstan received observer status in the African Union, which opens new horizons for cooperation within this organization, especially in light of Ghana's presidency in 2027.

The Ghanaian Foreign Minister, for his part, conveyed greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and invited Sadyr Japarov to visit Ghana next year when the country will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its independence and assume the presidency of the African Union.

Samuel Ablakwa also highly praised the reforms being carried out in Kyrgyzstan, including the fight against corruption and the protection of national interests, particularly in the context of issues related to "Kumtor." He highlighted construction, digitalization, tourism, and the agro-industrial complex as key areas for future cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope that this visit would mark the beginning of a new era in strengthening friendly and business relations between Kyrgyzstan and Ghana.
