On March 16, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Edil Baisalov, participated in a high-level event dedicated to the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of countering all forms of religious discrimination. This information was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Baisalov pointed out that Kyrgyzstan is a secular, multiethnic, and multireligious society where Islamic cultural heritage harmoniously coexists with the principles of pluralism and freedom of religion. He also noted that since gaining independence, the country has witnessed a revival of religious life, and the state actively supports this process to strengthen social cohesion.

Furthermore, he addressed pressing issues in the Middle East region. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has expressed serious concern about the escalating tensions in this region, especially during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.

The statement said: "The Kyrgyz Republic calls on all parties to exercise restraint, cease hostilities, and restore constructive dialogue in accordance with the UN Charter and international law."
