The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has decided to introduce a new procedure regarding the sale of precious metals for domestic jewelers.
This decree was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The main goal of this document is to streamline the legislation in the field of handling precious metals and stones, which is in line with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Precious Metals and Precious Stones" and the Presidential Decree of the Kyrgyz Republic concerning the support of several sectors of the economy. According to the new procedure, jewelry manufacturers will have the right to purchase precious metals and stones acquired by the Cabinet of Ministers under priority rights, which will provide them with the necessary resources for production within the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the new decree, domestic jewelers will be able to purchase precious metals at a 2% discount from the fixed price of the London Bullion Market Association.
Moreover, buying points and pawnshops dealing with precious metals and stones have the right to sell jewelry and scrap of these materials to the authorized state body responsible for implementing state policy in the field of handling and accounting for precious metals and stones, excluding the items themselves.
