The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the introduction of a number of tax benefits for entrepreneurs in the jewelry industry as a result of changes made to the country's Tax Code.
These changes were approved by the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts in the Field of Taxation, Social Insurance, and Non-Tax Revenues" dated December 31, 2025.
According to this Law, jewelry manufacturers are exempt from paying value-added tax on equipment, technologies, reagents, and semi-finished products imported into the country.
The document also provides an opportunity to legalize the remaining previously imported or produced jewelry items made of precious metals within two months. During this period, a moratorium on inspections by tax authorities will be in effect.
Additionally, domestic jewelry manufacturers will be able to voluntarily test and hallmark their products with their own hallmark confirming the assay, excluding the state assay mark.
The changes also affected the Code of Offenses, where liability was introduced for conducting activities with jewelry items without special accounting. Fines amount to 5,000 soms for individuals and 13,000 soms for legal entities.
These initiatives are aimed at supporting the jewelry industry, reducing costs, increasing the competitiveness of products, and accelerating the modernization of production. They also create conditions for the introduction of modern technologies and the release of jewelry items that meet international standards.
We remind you that earlier, according to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic dated July 31, 2025, a single tax rate of 0.25% was established for manufacturers and sellers of jewelry, which is significantly lower than the previous rates, which ranged from 2 to 4 percent.
