- Almambet Shykmamatov, Chairman of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, stated that the proposed benefits for the jewelry industry are unique for the post-Soviet space. He made this statement on December 23 during a joint meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to him, the government is currently aware of 47 jewelry manufacturers, but most of them operate in the shadow sector. The draft law proposes a number of tax benefits that have no analogs among neighboring countries.

“The tax rate for the jewelry industry will be only 0.25% of turnover,” Shykmamatov noted.

He also added that the implementation of these measures will help legalize the jewelry sector, create new jobs, reduce labor migration, and have a positive impact on the socio-economic situation of citizens.

Shykmamatov emphasized that the industry has significant potential and, with government support, can achieve sustainable development over the next five years.
