According to the new amendments, organizers, perpetrators, and accomplices of fraudulent schemes can receive between 6 to 24 strokes with flexible rods up to 120 centimeters long. A mandatory medical examination will be conducted before the punishment is administered. Women and men over the age of 50 will be exempt from this measure.
The reason for the tightening of penalties is the rise in cybercrime, which accounts for about 60% of all registered crimes in the country. From 2020 to September 2025, the damage from such crimes reached approximately $3.88 billion.
