American billionaire and businessman Elon Musk announced the launch of a new project called "Grokipedia," which serves as an alternative to the well-known encyclopedia "Wikipedia." This was reported by Kazinform, citing information from The Washington Post.
The site, according to the publication, has a style and format similar to Wikipedia, and articles on topics such as ChatGPT, Diane Keaton, and the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 are already available.
This project is Musk's latest initiative to utilize the Grok artificial intelligence system developed by his company xAI, which resembles ChatGPT, to create competitive technologies.
The launch of the project on Monday sparked mixed opinions: some of Musk's fans showed great interest, while critics pointed out the presence of articles with inaccurate information or texts that replicate Wikipedia's content.
At the time of launch, around 885,000 articles were already posted on the site, which is significantly less than the over 8 million articles in the English version of Wikipedia.
Despite Grokipedia.com being operational for only a few hours, users began reporting various errors in its functionality immediately after the launch.
