In 2037, Russia plans to deploy the world's first round-the-clock scientific observatory on the International Lunar Scientific Station (ILSS), which will be equipped with an analogue of Wi-Fi 5G, as reported by the Kazinform agency, citing information from TASS.

Konstantin Raikunov, head of the "Space Systems for Fundamental and Applied Research" department at the Central Scientific Research Institute of Machine Engineering, noted that "the first official consumer of our lunar power station will be the space observatory." He added that the presence of a Wi-Fi 5G analogue will allow for the placement of numerous automatic scientific stations over a large area and effectively collect data from them.

Using this Wi-Fi analogue, it is planned to gather information about the "entry and exit of the Moon from the Earth's magnetosphere," as well as various geological and seismic processes on its surface.

“The collected data will be transmitted via the Wi-Fi analogue to the lunar observatory, where it will be stored, and then sent to Earth for our Academy of Sciences using a powerful onboard relay complex,” Raikunov explained.
