The Most Dangerous and Safe Countries for Tourists in 2020 Named

List of Favorable and Dangerous Countries for Tourism
Experts from the international organization International SOS have created an interactive "Tourist Risk Map," warning travelers about potential problems when traveling abroad in 2020, TASS reports, citing the Daily Mail. With its help, tourists can learn about the security challenges they may face when visiting different countries.
The main criteria for compiling the map were the security situation, healthcare issues, and road safety. In each of the three categories, the most dangerous countries for travelers identified by experts were Afghanistan, Venezuela, Libya, and Somalia.
The highest risk of contracting various diseases is noted in African countries, including Niger, Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Eritrea, and the Central African Republic. The publication included Yemen, Syria, and North Korea among the countries with low healthcare standards.
Regarding road safety, the highest risks for tourists, in addition to African countries, are seen by International SOS in Venezuela, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Additionally, experts from the World Economic Forum (WEF) named the safest countries for tourists in the international ranking of tourism competitiveness, The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019, according to Interfax. Among the safety assessment criteria used by the ranking compilers were police reliability, prevalence of terrorist attacks, murder rates, costs from terrorism, crime, and violence.
The leaders of the list are Finland, Iceland, and Oman.
The top ten includes Switzerland, Hong Kong, the UAE, Luxembourg, Portugal, and New Zealand. In the second ten are Qatar, Estonia, Japan, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, Norway, the Czech Republic, Australia, and Brunei.
Interestingly, countries that lead in tourist attractiveness rank low in terms of safety: for example, France is in 51st place, and Germany is in 41st.
Russia ranked 98th in safety for foreign tourists, positioned between Tanzania and Argentina. It is worth noting that our country improved its position by 11 points compared to the 2017 ranking.
