In Rostov-on-Don, experts will discuss the future of the Greater Caucasus and Central Asia

At the event, which will take place on October 24, experts from Russia and other countries will gather to discuss the topic: "Modern Trends in the Development of the Greater Caucasus and Central Asia in a Multipolar World".

The main organizers are the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Center for Media Strategies" and the Department of Oriental Studies of the Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies (ISiR) of the Southern Federal University (SFedU). The conference will address important political, economic, and social aspects of these key regions.

The discussion will cover a wide range of issues that shape the current agenda of the region. Participants will exchange views on the influence of countries such as Russia, China, Turkey, and Iran, as well as the role of the EU and the USA in the politics of the Caucasus and Central Asia aimed at ensuring stability and security.

Key issues planned for discussion include:

Social and political processes: the influence of pan-Turkism; Geopolitical rivalry: interests of leading global players; Security: ways to resolve conflicts, including Nagorno-Karabakh and Afghanistan; Economy: development of transport and energy corridors, as well as the impact of sanctions; Migration: management of labor resources and trends in migration processes; Humanitarian aspects: the study of the Russian language in Central Asia as a means of strengthening cultural ties.

"The choice of Rostov-on-Don for holding this conference is not accidental. Our city has always been an important intellectual center for Oriental studies and a gateway to the Caucasus. In the context of complex processes at the intersection of Europe and Asia, expert analysis of the current situation is extremely important. We intend to provide a platform for open and professional dialogue," emphasized Mark Bykov, director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Center for Media Strategies".
